Archival consulting for artists, studios, and small collections
Understand the condition of your digital archive and decide what to address first.
Mina Systems helps artists, studios, small galleries, and personal archives assess scattered files, uncertain backups, inconsistent naming, aging platforms, and undocumented collections.
The Archive Health Check is a focused review of a representative sample of your archive. You receive a practical assessment of current risks, clear priorities, and recommendations for improving long-term access and maintenance.
Archive Health Check
Pilot price: $350-$500
Final pricing within this range depends on the size, complexity, and condition of the materials selected for review.
The Archive Health Check includes:
- A 60-minute intake session
- Review of current storage and backup practices
- File-format validation of a representative sample
- Folder structure and naming assessment
- High-level review of website and platform dependency risks
- A written findings and priorities report
- A 30-minute findings call
The Health Check is a bounded assessment rather than a comprehensive review of every file in a collection. File repair, migration, metadata editing, storage installation, cybersecurity testing, and formal conservation certification are not included.
The review scope, sample size, access method, and expected timeline will be confirmed before work begins.
Why Mina
Mina Systems brings together experience in collections photography, cultural-heritage digitization workflows, practical image-quality review, file-format validation, static publishing, and artist and studio practice.
The work focuses on usable preservation: helping clients understand what they have, identify meaningful risks, document priorities, and make informed decisions about storage, migration, and access.
Where a project requires formal conservation treatment, advanced cybersecurity, large-scale storage engineering, or other specialized expertise, those needs will be identified as part of the recommendations.
